New Jersey Chapter #1 offers several scholarships as follows:
- The James J McMahon Memorial Scholarship (2 scholarships: “A” and “B”) for High School Seniors.
Scholarship “A” is a grant of $10,000 per year for 4 years for a total of $40,000.
Scholarship “B” is a grant of $8,000 per year for 4 years for a total of $32,000.

- The William A. Doyle Memorial Scholarship for Permanent Deacons (Multiple Scholarships)
Each scholarship is a grant of $1,500 per semester (Fall and/or Spring) to fully cover the recipient’s share of the tuition and assist with directly related expenses in pursuit of becoming a Permanent Deacon in fulfillment of the Master’s-level graduate education requirements for the Permanent Diaconate Formation Program set by the recipient’s Archdiocese/Diocese. During the past year, the Supreme Council provided over $1.5 million in scholarships to students attending colleges, universities, and seminaries. These scholarships include undergraduate scholarships for Catholic Colleges and Universities, undergraduate scholarships for the Catholic University of America, graduate fellowships for the Catholic University of America, Bishop Greco Graduate Fellowships for teachers of people with intellectual disabilities, scholarships for seminarians, the Matthews and Swift Scholarships for children of members who are killed or permanently disabled by hostile action while serving in the armed forces in a combat zone and children of full-time firefighters and law enforcement officers who died as a result of criminal violence directed at them, and more scholarships. The Bishop Dougherty Scholarship is an award of $1,000 annually for 4 years.
